Finneas Baird O'Connell was born in Los Angeles, California in 1997. His parents were Maggie Baird (screenwriter), and Patrick O'Connell, actor. He began writing and recording his own music as a child actor at the age of 12. He made his film debut in Bad Teacher (2011) with Cameron Diaz. In 2013, he was featured on the soundtrack to Life Inside Out, a music-themed drama in which he also starred alongside his mother. He appeared on parts of Modern Family and Aquarius, and he was also a regular character Alistair in the sixth season. His first single, "Desperate measures," was released by his guitar-pop group, the Slightlys, in early 2016. Later in 2016, Eilish made her breakthrough with "Ocean Eyes", a Finneas produced song that he originally wrote for his band. It reached number 84 in the U.S. after gaining millions of streams.
